Editorial Review for Flume Trail – by Stephanie Rosenbaum
Overview
Starting from the Spooner Lake trailhead in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park, you'll ride through aspen and lodge-pole pine groves, climb 1,100 feet, then slowly descend to beautiful Marlette Lake. The Flume Trail loops start here.
The Experience
Running 1,600 feet above the east shore of Lake Tahoe, the dirt-track Flume Trail boasts spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Located near Sand Point, south of Crystal Bay, this bike trail comes within a half-mile of the lakeshore at points, offering great photography, relaxation and picnicking opportunities, as well as some great riding.
